How to calculate the beginning and ending dates of storage?

Storage service starts by the day in which full and empty containers are discharged from the vessel to the terminal or off-dock terminal, and/or by the day in which full and empty containers are transferred from vehicle to terminal, and ends by the day in which full and empty containers are taken from the off-dock terminals and/or loaded to vessel. Invoices include the beginning and ending dates of storage.

What is THC (Terminal Handling Charge)?

Terminal Handling Charge is the general expression of the cost for all kind of services such as transferring, carrying, loading/unloading, laying, stacking/shifting etc. in the port area or off-dock terminal.

What is the CFS (Container Freight Station)?

CFS is specific area in port for loading and discharging cargoes in containers.

What is TEU? (Twenty Foot Equivalent Unit)

TEU is the size of a 20-foot container that generally used for indicating the container terminal capacity and container vessel capacity. 40-foot container is calculated as 2TEU.

What is the hazardous cargo (IMDG)?

The term of hazardous cargo is used for classification of goods as below classes by International Maritime Organization in International Maritime Dangerous Goods code.

What are the necessary documents and procedures for container inspection, full inspection and sampling?
  • Customs broker or company representative applies to the related customs office for completing procedure of cargo manifest or cargo declaration.
  • After the determination of type of process (full inspection, inspection or sampling) and the containers that will be processed, customs broker or company representative submits by the necessary documents and obtains a job order from customer service officer.
  • Job order is sent to operation department and customer service department via the online system. Customer Service Department collects the expenditures for related service and confirms job order. The service is also confirmed by operation department.
  • Requested service is carried out by terminal tallymen upon receiving the confirmations via hand terminals from both departments.
What is the process for gate-out of full container?
  • Customs broker or company representative completes the procedures for customs clearance.
  • He/she applies to customer service department by submitting necessary documents that specifies which container or containers are gated-out full.
  • Following the collection of the costs for related service, customer service department confirms the service. Upon the second confirmation from operation department, tallymen on the area carry out the service by receiving both confirmation via hand terminal.
  • In Gate Out process related cargo documents are given to customs department and a copy of bill of lading is delivered to customer service department.
